Breaking into investment banking is hard. There’s so much jargon, competition, and mystery that it can feel overwhelming. We know because we’ve been there.
Investment Bankers is a finance-focused blog created to make that journey easier, with a healthy dose of honesty and a lot less jargon.
We started this site because we noticed that a lot of finance career advice out there is either too vague or too sugar-coated.
Our goal is to do things differently.
We give you straightforward guidance, candid stories, and practical tips, the kind of advice we wish we had when we were starting out.

Meet the Team
Our content is written and edited by a small team of finance nerds.
Marco – Chief Researcher & Editor
Marco is our Chief Researcher and Editor, and the backbone of our content. With a Master’s degree in Economics from a top university in Sweden, he’s been dedicated to finance from day one. He spent over five years as a business analyst at a Manhattan trading firm, where he learned the ins and outs of the markets. Eventually, Marco left the corporate grind to become a freelance researcher and share his industry knowledge with aspiring bankers. At Investment Bankers, he makes sure every article is thoroughly researched, accurate, and even a bit fun.
Ian – New York-Based Freelance Journalist
Ian is a New York-based freelance journalist and our go-to storyteller. Over the past decade, he wrote for multiple finance news sites and picked up a ton of experience breaking insider trading news and covering Wall Street scandals. He’s chased down stories on some of the most infamous financial happenings and has a knack for making complex news easy to understand. Now, as a senior contributor to Investment Bankers, Ian uses his investigative chops to dig into everything from industry trends to cautionary tales. If there’s a lesson to be learned from a big deal or a finance fiasco, Ian’s on it.
